Loose - Day 17 Poem

Poetry Slut

Loose words
casual punctuation
too liberal use of—
em dashes
slit skirt showing off
a poem's legs
up to the garter belt
maybe beyond

There's a story behind this t-shirt, but none in the poem other than I'm fond of using em dashes in poems. I'm exhausted today.

Great poem! I'm enjoying all of your poem a day works. So much great stuff, I'm working on reading all of the ones I missed.

Thanks Jacque. I'm planning on putting together a chapbook of all of them at the end of the month.

I really like it too. But—I can't help noticing—you've used a hyphen in it! Sorry for noticing... To type an em dash, type "& mdash;" with the semicolon but without the space.

Something Emily Dickinson never had to contend with...

Tim, thank you for pointing that out. I just pasted the poem here and I guess that symbol doesn't translate and I didn't notice it or know the code for it. I'm gonna see if I can fix that, because it is important to the poem.

Yay! I think it worked.
