Such a slut

First I became a button slut, now I'm a blog slut. Yesterday I did Sommer, today Donna. Their blogs that is. Today I have a poem over at Donna George Storey's blog to go with her auditeuristic series (I think I made that word up). And if I can make my brain work, I'll have my own post up later.

Full Moon Bravery or Foolishness?

Something grabbed me today and hauled me off into that back alley and forced me to write. And not write pretty. It wasn't until much later in the day that I realized that it's the full moon. The Full Pink Moon, as KM wrote about a couple of weeks ago.

This past weekend, Helia Brookes, in her Beginner's Ball #3 blog post, spoke about using fantasies as wellsprings for stories. Today, I did that. And it's kind of scary. Because not only did I write it, I've already sent it out as a submission. Less than twenty minutes ago.

Whew! This morning when I got up, that was not in the plans. 

So, we'll see what happens.

Getting Wet in Suite 69

Over at Donna George Storey's illustrious blog, Sex,Food and Writing, there's been a steady stream of folks in and out of Suite 69 treating us to an international erotic smorgasbord of hotels. Today I join in the fun with Hot Shower at the Kabuki Hotel.

When Donna asked if I wanted to take part in this "literary orgy" (as EllaRegina put it), I immediately thought of the flasher entry I had up at Alison Tyler's blog at that time. The voting wasn't over so I had to wait to send Donna my piece and in the meantime remembered I had pictures from our stay at the Kabuki Hotel in San Francisco last summer. So head over there to enjoy the tea and sweet bean cakes - oh and some Pulsating Jets. Thanks Donna!

Oh, and if that wasn't enough, the wild and wonderful Kirsten Monroe posted the haiku I wrote in response to the lovely calla lily photo poem challenge she posted a week ago. Thanks, KM!

And coming up on Monday is the next dance at the Beginner's Ball, which will be hosted by Marina St. Clare.

What a lovely finish for the progressive blog feast - and what a feast it's been. Thank you Donna George Storey and Kirsten Monroe for planning this.

It's Friday and the feasting has begun! Meet you in the Mojave Desert for Kirsten Monroe's mouth-watering chipotle chile rubbed lamb chops with a cherry pinot sauce. MMmmmmmmmmmm 

But that's not all! First we can go skinny dipping in Cunning Gila Hot Springs while listening to Kirsten read to us. The revels continue over at the tent strewn with pillows to enjoy the main course with some potato dumplings in mole sauce (ooo, I love!), the wonderful wines and the entertainment. Maybe a naked run in the desert afterwards.

Oh, and to answer a very thought-provoking question. With enough wine, I'm sure the discussion will last into the wee hours. But it's Friday. We can sleep in before heading over to Donna George Storey's for the vegetarian course tomorrow.

An amuse bouche and a kiss

Amorous. Anticipation. Appetite.

A kiss starts the "sensual and provocative progressive dinner ala Blog" over at Craig J. Sorensen's with the amuse bouche course - which literally means "mouth amuser" - a delightful image if ever there was one for the opening of an erotic blogland feast. This midwinter repast begins today and proceeds until Feb. 4 - each day a different course at a different erotica writer's blog. Conceived (cooked up?) by Donna George Storey and Kirsten Monroe, this looks to be quite the affair to keep us all warm on these chilly days.

It reminded me of a wonderful meal that my husband and I shared oh, some 26 years ago - I remember the "amuse bouche" (though it wasn't called that) more than anything else about the evening. It was the 5th Anniversary dinner at Cafe Beaujolais - 1982 (almost 27 years ago - it was the restaurant's anniversary not ours). Fire-dried walnuts and not-quite-ripe champagne served by the winemaker himself - John Scharffenberger  (yes, of both champagne & chocolate fame) - an evening that etched itself in my epicurean & sensual memory. 

I think it would be fun to present an entire meal composed of various amuse bouches. Just little things. A veritable orgy of brief bites. One of Craig's more amusing recipes (pun intended) is a Bay Leaf Fritter. I cannot wait to try these!
